A scary story

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to telling you a story that always scared me when I was a little child because in that time I lived in my grandmother’s house that is located in a hill in Limache, and at the night I remembered that I always felt scary that a  ghost  would appear near the house.

When I was a child I usually talked about horror stories with my cousins. The story that scared me the most was the life of “The weeping”. The weeping was a woman that has two little children, they lived in a house near to a river, and one day she couldn´t find their kids that supposed were playing in the garden, so she felt desperate and went to found them around the field without success, by the night she come back to her house crying a lot because their children has lot, but when she pass near the river, she saw that the dead body of their kids were floating on the river. In that moment she felt so sad that she killed herself drowning in the river. So the story tells that the spirit of the woman walks in the “living life” crying and screaming so loud “where are my children?”, but only the kids can hear her, and that’s scared so much when I was a little child!!!

Well, this is the last blog, I hope you enjoyed all the post!!!

Animal

Hello everyone! This time I’m going to talk about an animal that really makes me life in the animation movie “Madagascar”: The Lemur.

The Lemur is an animal that if you looked at it, maybe you would think that is similar to a big rat, but in fact they belong to the family of the primates. This animal lives in Madagascar (an island near to Africa) and there are some species that lives in Thailand because they live better in the tropical or in the hot weather. Also, they spend the most time of their lives over the trees, because they make their own nest on the branches, but they don’t stand too long in the same place, because they expel a disagreeable smell that can call the attention of some predator like the snakes, for example.

That adult Lemur has eight teeth in their maxillary   and six teeth in their jawbone, but this is also depends about the type of Lemur that we want to refer. But What really called my attention about this topic, is that the Lemur practically born with their definitive teeth!.

I choose to talk about this animal because I think that his exterior appearance is very weird. In fact, exist a type of Lémur that really scares me (just look at the picture)!

Plans for this summer

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about the plans that I have for this summer. Well, I have to admit that I usually don’t prepare the plans for the summer ahead of time, but I hope that I could find a great job for a few days in this summer, especially in January, so in the case that I could make a good money I would like to leave Santiago for a few days to go to the South of Chile with my cousins. I’ve never been in Valdivia before so I would like to visit that place for this time, because different people told me that it is a wonderful place and in the summer there are a lot of funny activities for tourist, for example you can go to the thermal springs in Llifén, or you can take a touristic trip on board in a “catamaran”.
In this summer I would like to free diving again. About two years ago that I don’t do this sport, but I really want to feel free again down water. Also I would like to take some class about this sport to can stay down water more time without feeling desperate so early.
Finally I would like to visit my school’s friends, because when I’m in the period of university I don’t have so much time to meet them, so I hope that we can go out to party, shopping, or go to the cinema.

Well, this is everything for this week!

A photograph I like

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about the photograph that are you seeing right now. In this photo there is a men called Kevin Richardson with two of the thirty eight lions with which he lives. This photo was taken by Adrian Steirn, who is a very young and famous photographer that dedicates his life to capture the most beautiful moments of the wild animals that lives in South Africa.
Kevin lives in South Africa where he has a private reserve where he has lions and hyenas. Everything started when he worked for a producer movies that was filming about the life of the lions, and his job was related to take care this animals when the light of the cameras goes off, so he could establish a very special connection with the cubs of lions that take care. But when the recording finished, Kevin had the feeling that living without this animals it wasn’t an options because their became in his family, so he found a reserve for the lions and over the years he include hyenas to the reserve.
One of the most beautiful things in this story is that the lions doesn’t hurt him, he can sleep with them or even take a swim with them on the river that is on the reserve.

You can see this story on the channel NatGeo Wild or in the channel of youtube of the “lion whisperer”.

A Skill I Admire

Hello everyone! Today I´m going to telling you about a skill I admire and that is: the ability to create things. I think that this skill is one of the most important to the progress of the humanity. Since the prehistoric, the human had found the way to create new things to make his life easier, and that is the reason because in the actuality we have a lot of things that simplify our lives.

Also I think that at the moment is more difficult to create new things, because practically almost everything has been created yet, so you must have a lot of imagination to invent a new object, or one of the difficult could be the lack of money because in the scientific area or in the medicine you need a lot of money, for example to create a new medicine against viral infections.

Personally, I never created anything useful to the humanity, but I have the hope to create something that help to the distribution of free energy around the world. Because I think  this is a basic need and not a consumer service.

Well, this is everything for today, see you next week!

My dream job

Hello everyone! This time I’m going to telling about the job of my dreams, and this isn`t related to the career that I’m studying right now, in fact is very different. Since I was a child I always loved the animals and the nature, so I think that I would very happy working in some place of Africa o Australia taking care the animals that are in danger of extinction, or the animals that are actually maltreated, for example, as object of tourism like the elephants.

I think that the animals are a gift of the nature, and is so sad that people hurt them to they own benefit. About three weeks ago I saw a documental on T.V that spoke about how the life of elephants is getting more difficult right now in Africa because some people cut their horns to get money selling the marfil to another country or to get status in the tribe where they belong. This situation is making that a lot of elephants don`t reproduce with each other, so the population of elephants is getting down really fast.

Another animal that is in danger is the lion, because some stupid people hunt them as a sport, so they need someone protect them. I think that I would like to make a society that could work with the government to give a real protection to this animals.

One of my favorite movies

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite movie. Well, this is very difficult to me because I have seen a lot of movies in my life, and obviously more than one makes my cried. I think that a good movie must have a lot of different feelings, and the principal topic have to impact directly in the heart of the spectator.

The movie that I chose to talk about it is “Inception”. This movie was directed by Cristopher Nolan on 2010 and the principal actor was Leonardo Di Caprio. I remember that the first time that I saw this movie I was on the cinema with two of  my school’s friends , and I was so impressed with all the action of the movie, the music and the acting of all the protagonist, but what a like the most were the dialogue.

The beginning of the movie is very weird, it seems like anything has sense because it start with a dream, and basically all the movie refers to this topic, so that`s the reason because some people doesn`t understand it.  But I think that if you pay attention everything in this movie has a logical explication. Basically you can find a very didactics ways of   relate the subconscious with the reality.

I really recommend this movie!

My favorite tachnology

Hello everyone! I hope you had a nice week, well today I’m going to tell you some things about my favorite technology. But first, being honest I don’t like technology so much because I feel that makes you addicted to use it, and somehow consume your free time. Whatever, there is a simply object that doesn´t has some important functions but I couldn’t live without it: the mp3 player. Wherever I go I really love listening to music because that makes me feel so happy and usually the music transport me to another places of the past or the future. I think that the music it´s a very particular thing, because helps you to pose an objective in your life.

I take with me my mp3 player wherever I go, in the subway, on the streets, in class (because also has an application to recording), and obviously before I go to sleep. I usually hear international artist like Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Strokes, but also I like the national music, for example Jorge González and Francisca Valenzuela.

Well that’s all what I have to say for this time! Listen music and dream a lot! :)

My favorite Holiday!

Hi everyone, today I’m going to telling you about my favorite holiday. Well, around four years ago I traveled with almost all my school’s classmates to Bariloche, we spend a really good time there. I remember that was a very exhausting trip in bus that started in Santiago, then we stopped a few minutes in Talca, Valdivia, and finally after about 22 hours we arrived to our destination.
We stayed in a hotel (I can´t remember the name) and in the day we used to go all over. In the first day we visited “La Fábrica de Chocolate” where I ate and bought a lot of chocolate to give it to my family. Then I walked until the twilight for the street with my closest friend and we saw a beautiful places, like rivers near the street, craft fairs, and funny places for the tourists.  At night we went out to dancing in the disco, we spend a really good time, we knew a lot of funny people. The second and the third day were similar but of course that we visited other places.

The place that get my attention was the “Ice Bar”, it was a “typical” bar but everything was made of ice!!!, including the chairs, the tables, the drinking glass and the walls!  We freezed!

What country would I like to visit?

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to tell you what is the place that I want to know some day.
Well, I always wanted to go to Africa, specifically to the Congo Jungle because I think that is a magical place where you can find a lot of different animals that need protection, I would love to do care work helping to the animals that are in extinction risk and lives in there. Also, around the Congo Jungle lives a poor, but very humble community of Africans, so I would like to stay there to teach the children about some habits that has the occident´s people has, ours language and helping them in everything that they need.

I would like to live there a few years after I finished studying Dentistry. I hope to get some money to go there so fast I can. I think that would be an unforgettable experience.

I would like to know what do you think about this J so you can comment down here. See you next week.

The last blog :(

Well, this is the last blog of the semester, so I´m going to talk about some things related to my experience doing this activity. To start, I have to admit that the first blog that I wrote was very difficult to me, because I hadn’t studyng english since school, and that was three years ago, so I had missed the practice until now. How ever, actually I noticed that I have a positive developments in my writing in English because I have a better vocabulary and the time that I take writing is less.

In general, this activity has been good to me because I like write a lote to give my view about some issues, but I think that the topics given in class should have been a free choice to the students, because I didin´t like to wrote about some themes that I considered tedious as technology or things related to the university. I would like have written more about things that I like to do in my free time and my opinion about movies, books and music.

Another thing that I like it of this interactive activity was the fact that we must to read the classmates’s texts and comment it given our opinion. In my experience this activity help me to know things about my friends that I didn’t know before!.

Well, I hope you liked my blog! See us the next semester!

My favourite Music

Hello everyone, today I´m going to talk about a theme that I really like: my favourite music.
It´s difficult to start talking about one singer, because I like a large variety of music genres, but in general I like rock.
I could spend so many hours a day listening to music and painting Mandalas when I have free time, because this is a very relaxing activity and helps me relieving the stress of university. Usually I listen to Oasis, U2, Los prisioneros, Gepe, The Doors, The Killers, Soda Stereo, Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna, The Police, etc.
My favourite national singers are Jorge González and Francisca Valenzuela. I really admire Jorge because I think that the lyrics of the songs he wrote for his musical group “Los Prisioneros” talks about our country’s reality, the injustice and the amazing differences between rich men and poor people. He has the strength to speak up about what no one else dares to say.
Francisca Valenzuela is a national singer too, and she is an activist of feminism. And she is the first woman that has created a festival of feminist music “Ruidosa Fest”. I had the honor of assisting to this festival in February of this year and it was very entertaining and interesting, it had really good music and the speeches of strong women. Also, I have seen at Francisca singing in the Festival del Hueaso de Olmué this year and I had the opportunity to talk with her some minutes and she it´s so smart and funny.

Well, see you next week!

Public Health

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about my favorite subject of my career.

Actually I’m in the third semester of Odontology and my favorite subject is: “Promotion and Education on Health”.  In the class, our professors teach us about the importance of the Public Health and what we need to know and do to give the best attention to our patients, but not in the clinical treatment . For that reason, in this subject we must study other science as Epidemiology, where we can do diagnosis of health, but a population level to introduce public politics to make better life quality of the community.

I really like this subject because we can learn to “attend people and not teeths”, also this is one of the most social subjects that we have, and that makes me think that everything that I do have sense.  When I start studying Odontology the last year, I thought that Pediatric Dentistry was the specialty that I would like to study when I get my professional degree, but now I want to study Public Health to work in the faculty to be workmate of my teachers.

See you next week!

An interesting person...

Hello everyone! Today I am going to talk about a very interesting person:  Dr. Luis Ciocca.
Titular del Diario La Segunda, en septiembre de 1976.  The Dr. Ciocca is a dentistry that actually works as a teacher in the faculty of Odontology at the University of Chile in the Department of Legal and Forensic Medicine.  This Doctor wrote the book “Odontology medical and forensic” where he talks about how he manage to identify the body of Marta Ugarte Durán. The Doctor finally identify the body when he examinated the oral cavity of the cadaver, because he found remains of the dental treatment that he has made on his patient.
This forensic case was in all the newspaper of the country because Marta has became in the first political detainee identify.

A magical picture!

                                                                                     Hello everyone!
The picture that you’re seeing right now was taking in Yellowknife, Canada. Yellowknife is considered the capital of the Aurora Borealis in the world. Also in this place there is a diamond mine where you can find the stones with the highest purity in the world. This is a touristic place that I would like to visit it when I grow up. There are a lot of little huts in the forest to see the Aurora Borealis at the night, and around that place an aboriginal community lives and teaches the visitors about the traditional food and customs. I imagine that this atmosphere could be very interesting and relaxing, and is the perfect place to get connected with the nature. The only thing that I’m worried about is the weather, because the temperature can be around 30ºC!
Well, this is my story. I hope you like it!.
See you next week.

My future

Hello everyone! Today I´m going to talk about what I hope to be in the future when I graduate from University.

Lately I’ve been thinking if dentistry is the best career for me. I´ve always wanted to study Dentistry at the University of Chile, because I think that this is the best University in the country, but there is a lot of things about dentistry in the University and the country that make me doubt about my decision. For example, I don’t like the competition among my classmates for being the best, I think that is good that everyone wants to be one of the best dentists, but sometimes I think they forget the real objective of this profession, which is helping people to have a better and happier life.

I’m one of those people who really hate the routine! I will die working eight hours a day in a doctor’s office. I want adventures, for that reason I would LOVE to work in South Africa, I think that people who live in that country deserve a better medical attention, and that includes the improvement of oral health. So I hope I have the abilities in the future as a professional to change people’s life in this country, I would specially like working with kids that need protection. In addition I would like to learn more about their culture and life style, and one of my dreams is going to a Safari in South Africa!!

To quote John Lennon: “YOU MAY SAY I’M A DREAMER, BUT I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE”

MY LOVE

Hello friends!  Today I’m going to tell you how big is my love to the cats <3
I have two cats as pets in my house, and I always think that my heart would fall apart in pieces if one of them dies.  They always make my days better, their names are Mio and Sam, they aren’t brothers, but they love each other as if they were it.

3 years ago my mother came to my house with a little cat on his arm, we call him Sam, he is my sister’s favorite cat, and she usually feels jealous when see him sleeping on my bed.  5 months later, my mother came to my house with a little cat on his arm… AGAIN! But this little piece of heaven changes my life, we call him Mio, he always wants caress, and he is always sleeping or eating, sometimes when I feel tired of the University I WANT TO BE HIM!, he seems so relaxed all the time .  Both of them are the babies of the house, and my love to them is unbreakable.

P.D: The cat in the picture is my cat Mio <3

lalalalalalala...

Well, I have to say that I don’t like too much the technology, because I don’t know how to use to the perfection a lot of things as cameras, iPads, or even my cell phone!.  However,  I think that the piece of technology that I prefer the most  it’s my cell phone, because it’s very useful to me, because it help me to being connected all the time everywhere I go.  When I was eight years old, my parents gave me my first cell phone to called them when I had any emergency at school. Now, I use my cell phone for a lot of things, but especially to write messages to my friends and listening to music. I listen to music all the time, especially when I`m studying or when I’m in the subway way to my University, so the battery of my cell phone dies quickly. My life without my cell phone would be more stressed to me, because that little thing makes my life easier.

hmmm...

Hi! This time I’m going to tell you some things about my career.

When I was a child my dream was to be a singer or actress, but when I grew up I realized that I haven’t talent for that kind of things, so I started to think about another  things  I could be in my future.  When I had 17 years old, I decided to study Dentistry because it was the only career that I wanted, I still don’t know why don´t like others careers, maybe it was because I  wanted a career related to biology and with the human health, and that allows me to give people a  beautiful smile. Finally, when I was 20 years old I started to study Dentistry at Universidad de Chile, and my experience until now has been good and bad. Good, because this is what I really like the most, and bad because it’s very stressful. At this point of my life, I don´t know what area of Dentistry I prefer.

A beautiful place to go...

Hi friends!

I would like to visit France, because I think it’s a country that has many touristic attractions that stand out for its beautiful architecture , such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc of Triomphe , the Museum of Leuvre ,  Notredam Cathedral and the palace of Versailles. In addition, many of my favorite authors , such as Albert Camus , Ernesto Sabato and Julio Cortázar  have a connection in their texts to various places in that country, event that made it more interesting for me.

In this country I would like to visit a lot of coffee shops, house movies and book shops to learn more about francese culture, also I would like to attend concerts of singers of the country that haven’t internationalized their musical career yet, and principally enjoy all the moments and events
that occur near by while I'm in France

Although France seems like a nice place, I wouldn’t like to live there, because I really like living in Chile  and I think that are so many places of my country that I haven’t know yet and I would like to visit before traveling to Europe.

See you the next time!
